100 Steps to Home is a unique opportunity to provide a loving home for neglected, abused, and orphaned girls in Hyderabad, India.
Seventy girls, aged 4-16 sleep on the concrete floor of a tiny rented house; there is no other place for them. They have been “swept” off the street by Hyderabad police and the Salesian Sisters of Saint Don Bosco have rescued them.
We must build them a home, where they will be safe, where they can go to school. We cannot send them back to their life of begging, poverty, prostitution.
Leading to the new building will be 100 Steps to Home. Each stepping stone will be richly decorated by the girls themselves, with your name or the name of a loved one, a lasting tribute to your generosity. Stepping stones may be dedicated as a memorial for a deceased parent, spouse, child, anyone you want to remember in a very special way.
Each day, the orphan girls and sisters will “pray” the stepping stones, much like beads of a rosary and you will be remembered. Just think: a prayer each day for you or a loved one. Perhaps that prayer will be said just when you need it the most.
The orphanage will cost $300,000 to build; each stone represents a $3,000 loving gift. Please help build a home for these girls, the poorest of the poor, in Hyderabad, India.
Thank you,
